Binbirri Contracting Pty Ltd is a civil and mining contractor which has become a very successful Pilbara Aboriginal business since established in 2011. With an experienced team, Binbirri has developed a strong approach to business, completing all projects in a safe and professional manner, and delivering solutions that both meet and exceed the expectations of our Clients. Our business currently employs 63% Aboriginal people across all projects, inclusive of management positions. We are committed to promoting equality of opportunity, treating our employees with respect, and ensuring they are valued on the basis of their skills, talents and expertise.

Owner Kevin Eckerman, from the Banyjima Language Group has over 20 years’ experience within the industry. Binbirri’s ambition is to create a sustainable business and to increase Indigenous participation in capital development and employment within North West Australia. We are experienced in achieving and maintaining a zero harm safety culture by increasing education of our workforce, promoting positive interaction by all employees, and through partnering our own and our Clients Safety and Training Programs.

Our Vision

Binbirri’s founder and director, Kevin, wants to keep open to local people what he describes positively as a revolving door; namely a company that is active and winning contracts, so that we can offer our people continuous employment and provide them with a safe, secure and rewarding workplace. We aim to create employment and training opportunities for local Aboriginal people and strive to promote relationships with other Pilbara based Aboriginal businesses.

We ensure that all earthmoving related activities are conducted in a way that minimises any potential for negative environmental impact and complies with the strict environmental policies put in place by project stakeholders.
